Gab is listening...

Gab and I went for Ng's family dinner last Friday. I had a few glasses of wine, I felt a little tipsy by the time we about to go home, it was an enjoyment to have the wonderful time with Jenny and friends. When both of us in the car, Gab asked: 'Mee, you ok?', and I replied: 'Yup, not a problem!'. He seemed to worry about me being drunk, I did a lot of talking (as if I am the ordinary mom, talk and teach, teach and talk), or I should say - explaining... explaining why dad and mom not staying together, explaining how life can become wonderful and productive even dad is not around him... I did assure him the both of daddy and mommy love him very much.

And I started to worry that he doesn't like to listen to me (usually children don't like to listen to mom) so I asked if it is ok for me to continue my talking, he said yes, he'd love to. Later on, he asked of my permission for him to have a nap, I urge him to go ahead, he asked: 'Are you ok if I sleep?', 'Yes, of course, and we are almost home!'.

Thankful for Gab, God did give what I need...

Love Crucified Arose - Michael Card

Scribbling in the Sand: The Best of Michael Card (2002)

Long ago He blessed the earth
Born older than the years
And in the stall a cross He saw
Through the first of many tears
A life of homeless wandering
Cast out in sorrow's way
The Shepherd seeking for the lost
His life, the price He paid

Love crucified, arose
The Risen One in splendor
Jehovah soul Defender
Has won the victory
Love crucified, arose
And the grave became a place of hope
For the heart that sin and sorrow broke
Is beating once again

Throughout Your life You felt the weight
Of what You'd come to give
To drink for us that crimson cup
So we might really live
At last the time to love and die
The dark appointed day
That one forsaken moment
When Your Father turned His face away

Love crucified, arose
The One who lived the died for me
Was Satan's nail-pierced casualty
Now He's breathing once again

Love crucified, arose
And the grave became a place of hope
For the heart that sin and sorrow broke
Is beating once again

Love crucified, arose
The Risen One in splendor
Jehovah soul defender
Has won the victory

Love crucified, arose
And the grave became a place of hope
for the heart that sin and sorrow broke
is beating once again

Love crucified, arose
The One who lived and died for me
Was Satan's nail-pierced casualty
Now He's breathing once again

"She knows EVERTHING!"

Me and Gabriel went for dinner last night, together with Cynthia, Jie Min and Angeline, and we will meet up Shuo Fong at Bumbu Bali in Puchong. While we were on the way for Puchong, Gab were chatting with Jie Min and Angeline, I didn't really put in effort to listen to what they were chatting, but one phrase I heard it clear, Gab said:"If you don't know anything, you can ask my mom, she knows EVERYTHING *in high pitch*!" I broke into laughter.

I don't think I am that kind of mom knows everything, I told him many times: "I don't know, Gabriel!" whenever he asked me about astronomy, aeronautics, cosmology, machinery.... things boys usually interested in.

Nevertheless, I am proud to be his mom, haha!

Hike for two consecutive days - Apeh and Tabur Hills

This was plan when I had a meeting cute with Paul on Wednesday in Pyramid while Debbie, Mun Wah, Ben, May and me were doing our shopping and gathering. Paul told us that he'll be going to Tabur on Friday, which I haven't been to this place, and we suggested him for Apeh waterfall on Thursday that he wanted to know where.

We went together with a few of youth.

Tabur Hill also known as Bukit Melawati located in Kuala Lumpur, it is worlds longest Crystal Quartz-rich ridge, we took about one hour reach up to a point that we could have a spectacular view of the Klang Gate Dam, it wasn't the peak yet, because of the danger condition of the ridge, we stopped at this point, able to catch some cool breeze. It was not a walk like in Apeh Hill, not just simply a hike but a rock climbing which are almost 90 degree angle.

There are Tabur East and Tabur West, according to the position of the sun, I believe the hill that we climbed is Tabur East. It wasn't the peak yet, hopefully someday...... I can reach to the top.

Enjoying to stand and walk on the ridge, I love the feeling while standing on the cliff edge, it was quite challenging but an enjoyable climb, 'a little bit danger' according to my friend, for me.... I love it very much.

Newspaper is feeding us 'stories'

I read blogs, and I believe they wrote what they think, and what they have been through, a real life story, I am one of them, why would we want to lie?

Sad to find out, the newspaper I am reading from very young of my age, every day, after so many years, for one incident, I found out they are just feeding us some 'made up stories', something they want people to just 'read', not the truth.

Sickening society, sickening government, sickening politics, sickening country.

What is wrong with me???

Kind a sad now, every time I do my shopping, I have to go straight to XL size, oh man.... have I grown that much? Or they have changed their measurement on sizes? I should feel better if I get those from Europe, at least I will look for M size...

Or is it time for me to sign up slimming courses? Work on my diet, take only fruits and water? Calculate the calories of every food I take? Exercise and exercise ~* NO.... *screaming...

In some designer garments, they don't even have L now.... sad, what has this world gone for? slim is beauty? What an insult, people have been deceived, beauty has been distorded. Women spend time on their face, body, hair, toes, nails, feet..... oh my goodness, the whole body of them, to make them look nice before men, to feel 'confident' enough before ladies. Oh... enough!

watch this video from YouTube - Ditorted Perception of Beauty

This shows us what is the realistic and wonder works have been done behind an advertisement. And sadly many women ...erm.. including me sometimes get hooked up by these lies and deception. I said sometimes is whenever I read beauty magazines... which I seldom, I read Architecture, home maker, gardening, N.G. and others but not beauty magazines like ....erm.. .. those I read when I got stucked in a saloon, thankfully, I go only once or twice a year, that I got affected and deceived during that time... haha.

And many spend money on slimming courses, how I wish I could spend that much .... !!?! Just thinking, I think I would rather accept who am I then complaining myself that much, because that always not enough, it is again, another never ending story.

Another one from YouTube: Beauty Pressure

Parents out there have the responsibility to tell their girls about the truth of beauty, before the advertisments teach them.

The pervasiveness of these images has caused several body image issues in girls and women including eating disorders, commit to attend plastic surgeries, over exercising, low self-esteem, and a distorted viewing of themselves. I believe including velebrities, battle these body image issues on a daily baiss, even harming themselves physically and emotionally because of the pressure to be the 'beautiful' they see in advertisements, magazines, television and so on.

Ooh, thankfully, after reading my own explanation, conclusion I have is: 'I am fine, nothing is wrong with me.'

Chinese New-year Days

Some people have to start work on 3rd day or 4th day, which I personally feel pity to them (ops, sorry, I really do!), some start work on the 7th day, which the 7th day is only just a half day of 'showing up' in the office, the business is not actually running, this is for those who work for a traditional Chinese boss.

And the Chinese New Year now compare to last time, so much in difference, hmmph, nothing much to talk about it now, first of all we have grown up till we are so free to go any where instead of getting stuck in a house filled with people, haha! Hooray! No, no, no, not what I meant... when I was young, my mom used to take us to her parent's house every Sunday, we liked that very much, she has many sisters and brothers, and they will meet up and chat, they brought their children which are my cousins to spend time with us, we used to play and running around near the neighbourhood.

Located in Jinjang, forgot about whether in South or North side, was a beautiful kampung, my grand parent had a nice and big bungalow, a spacious back yard raising chickens and ducks, a well by the side, big kitchen, it was really big compare to what we have now, and my grand-pa will lit up a few antique vintage petromax lanterns when night came. Grand-pa was a cook, he cooked for us.

On the other side, my father side, mum will took us there also but not as often, it was a double-storey bungalow house, in a town, two in a great different practice. We are closed to both sides, and I think back, really thankful for my mum.

Now a days, we have facebook to keep every cousin in contact, and updated with individual's activities, and arrange meetings, gathering through facebook, that is the change!

Schedule for CNY every year, more or less the same activities, unless we go oversea.
1st day: After brunch (cos usually sleep late the day before... or 'late' in the morning) going to my father's side, spend a day there, some chat, some play card games...

2nd day: To my mother's side, this year... we have different arrangement... haha, we will leave all our children to our parents which are their Grand-Pas and Grand-Mas, then we (cousins) will go out for chatting... what a brilliant idea, that was suggested by me, the evil mum.... haha.

3rd day: Will visit ex-husband's side with my sister's family and mum, will then spend an afternoon for food and chat.

4th to 6th days will have it done spontaneously ... erm... overall, we will be quite busy with all plans that came out!

Chinese New Year still a season that we looking forward.

Eliminating Doubt

Eliminating Doubt
Rhonda Dent

Sometimes it seem like it takes a very long time for the things that we are trusting God for to happen. We began to get anxious and even doubtful. When we deal with other people it is understandable that we might have doubt because we are dealing with human beings who are just doing the best that they possibly can. With God and His promises there is no reason to doubt.

God has done and will do everything He said He would do and more. When things do not happen as soon as we would like them to or when we have waited as long as we think we should or when that break through takes time we can find ourselves in doubt. We get anxious and wonder where God is or if He heard our prayers. All sorts of things enter into our mind and the wait seems endless. We try to be patient, but it seems as if it is taking forever.

We often ask, "When God...When?" Often in my life as I prayed about certain things I have felt so anxious, even impatient at times. Sometimes to the point of saying, "Will this thing ever happen?" Other times asking, "Did I hear God clearly?" "Did I get my signals crossed?"

Then I began to doubt and question what I thought I knew. At other times I tried to work it out myself and just got in God's way. It is hard to be patient and wait, especially in today's world filled with instant gratification. However, we must be like Abraham who had the faith to believe that God would do what He promised. The Bible tells us that Abraham staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4: 20-21, KJV.)

I remember as a young girl listening to older believers talk about the importance of 'knowing' something. I never could understand why people in church insisted that you 'know that you know that you know' something (followed by a head shake). At the time I had no idea what in the world they were talking about. I just knew that they believed what they were saying. But now I know and can relate to what they were saying.

I know that I know that I know (head shake) that God is in control.
I know that I know that I know (head shake) He will do just what He said.
I know that I know that I know (head shake) He may not come when you want, but He is right on time.
I know that I know that I know (head shake) He is all knowing.

That head shake was eliminating any doubt! That head shake meant that they were fully persuaded that God would do just what He said. Instead of doubting and/or being anxious and getting in God's way let's wait patiently and realize that everything is in God's timing.

God's timing is perfect because everything about God is perfect. We need to get to the point where we do not want anything outside of His timing. If you are waiting on God for anything, wait patiently and He will bring you to that expected end.

Eliminate any doubt in your mind and be fully persuaded that God is not slack on His promises.

Forgotten Embroidery Work

Just a small piece of place-mat, plan to serve as a cover for my Tupperware spice set, this is started even before Gabriel is born, oh... almost 10 years have been well kept in my sewing kit box.

Embroidered "HOME SPICE"

Decorate with spring flowers and bushes.

It has blue lavender, need to sew in more lavenders indeed; Yellow daisies, bushes and buds.

Gab's New Uniform

Just bought another two sets of uniform for Gab, and have to sew in name labels before he could wear it.

1) Decide the position where the label seats, hold it with tacking stitches.

2) Using hidden stitch to sew in name label.

3) Here it is, done!

Simple Breakfast for Gab

1) Simple Jiang Yu Tzai soup with omelette
The soup was boil a day before, reheat before sleep, keep it in the pot till the next day morning. Then I just have to heat up the soup and make omelette in the morning.

2) Fried Rice

Sliced cocktail sausages, fry it with chopped garlic in oil, mix in rice, break an egg after about 2 minutes, add some salt for better taste.

Gab loved this, he had it at home and brought some to school. I will usually prepare food (bread, he loves bread very much, for me.... 'senang sahaja' - easy job).

They only have 30 minutes for recess time, they left only a few minutes to finish the food after long queue, and sometimes ... I don't know, the store keeper somehow took a few minutes to return their change.... provided you are waiting there! Sound hilarious or sarcastic? But there are still many cases like this happening here and there in primary schools.

Bukit Apeh waterfall day trip

Just realized that was not my first time hiking in Bukit Apeh, I was invited to hike in this hill many years ago by my old school friend Tracy Yap.

This time accompanied by Gabriel, Ben, Mun Wah and Debbie, led by Harry. The hike started at about 9am, there were many hiker up and down, many were seniors, some puppies, and some were children, while we saw a teen dashing up and down with his dog, leaving us gasping for breath up the slope... *-9 ( shameful). Harry is a season hiker, he usually will go 3 - 5 waterfalls in a day, I felt so bad we were simply wasting his time for bringing us to this small hill and waterfall! So sorry.

The hike took us about almost two hours before reaching to upper fall. We stopped a while at a few 'stations' along the trek, I heard bird singing, insect chipping as well as grouchy voices along the way, haha they made a 'nice' harmony ensemble.

The fall is at medium size, there is a small pool at the fall. I was curious about it when Harry told us there is a nice beach' for us to take a sweet rest, there is one! It was filled by committees of Wow Wow group, they took months to fill this place with sand, there is a 'changing-room', a flat sandy ground with a big canvas hang over it to make a cosy place, I believe that is made for a cooking place, a hammock and clean surrounding.

Not many people came that Sunday, there were one group of 6, a group of 2 - father and son, and a few bachelor passer by.

Gab loves this place a lot, we stayed here for about 3 hours, we've spent our wonderful Sunday in nature, uttering God's creation again, that we shall not stop, He is worthy to be praised.

phew...but it will not come near you

This evening when I was on my way home, I almost got hit by a 5-ton lorry. That shocked me when I saw the lorry from rear-mirror right after I heard a loud 'brake sound and a short intermittent honk, then I turn my head to the back and saw the lorry ramped up to the divider on the right.

I can hear my rapid heartbeat while the mp3 was still playing praise and worship, "Thank you Lord Jesus!" my lips constantly recited, then I broke into tears.

It was so true, just this afternoon at 2pm while I was driving to my student house in Sg. Buloh, I had a feeling, a feeling urged me to pray, so I prayed and praise God for His protection, for His love, peace and joy continuously fall upon me, forgive my sins, rebuked the work of the evil that comes to steal, kill and destroy, and proclaimed in His mighty name that I am free!

I do not want tosay this is my lucky day, but here to acknowledge God's awesomeness and faithfulness. Give thanks to the Lord for his mighty hands.

Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
