A Medi Mission Trip to Cemara Island

A medi mission trip to Cemara Island. Francis Hoo, Ps Sonny, Ps Yu, bro Fu Wei, bro Gabriel Ng, Doctor Wong, Margaret, Jessy, Vi Jay and me. 20th Aug, driving down to JB. Pastor Yu and friends drove from Setiawan, met us (me and Francis) in Subang Jaya at 2pm, after lunch head down to JB FGC, arriving at 6pm, right after the get-to-know session, went for dinner with Pastor Kim Tai, we separated into two groups, arr....basicaly are men and women groups, stayed a night in Pastor Sonny and Pastor Kim Tai's house. Off for Batam on 21st Aug Thursday early in the morning, of course, we went for a delicious breakfast.

2nd arrival in Batam, meeting new friends and full time workers, get to know their ministries and out reach. Visited a small local children 'church' in Bengkong, and shopped for material needed in Cemara Island.

Batam mission trip : 20th - JB and 21st Aug 08 - Batam

In the 22nd morning, the sky was cloudy, everyone was worrying about the trip would have to delay for this bad whether. True enough... we were hit by a stormy and windy whether while we were on the long way (an hour drive) to local 'small' jeti. Amazingly the rain stopped when we arrived, everybody was praising God! Amen for that.

First day in Cemara Island, we held a klinik at 3pm, and kids time in Noah ministry. There were about 40 patients came. And at my side, there were about 20 kids in the class, we sang songs, we sang malay and english songs with action and dance, also played a short skit - I am Special, due to shortage of artists, everyone in this trip accept Doctor Wong, Jessy, Margaret and Vijay, they have to set up the clinic at the school class room, the rest had to play a role, featuring : Fu Wei - Snail ( he was real slow snail), Gabriel - Miss Tortoise(hahaha, 'she' was beautiful 'girl'), Ps Yu - The Fish( poor fish), Francis -the butterfly(keke, 'it' was a Jumbo butterly), and Ps. Sonny - The Cat(oh! I like the cat, so did the children!). Oooh! o_O~ guess what? They were good actors and 'actress', haha! The kids enjoyed the performance, we didn't have enough time for rehearsal, it was all about spontaneous, they have done well, pretty well. We have a craft session right after the skit - 'I am Special' photo frame, it is the first time ever they were teach to do craft. The duration of today's session was about 2 hours. Praise the Lord. Things had done according to the plan.

God is good all the time - short video clip on the boat.

23 Aug 9am - 11am Klinik time as well as Children story time. There were about 12 kids attended today, I shared the 'Wordless Book'. Thankfully all of them invited Jesus at the end of the story, which I strongly believe the gospel seed has been sowed in their tiny heart. Praise the Lord of his great work and of His grace. After lunch in Noah's center, while we were waiting for the boat, we had extra ordinary fellowship time, friends from Indonesia sang us a few beautiful songs, and also singing english praise and worship songs together, wonderful time, and most important thing - it was raining that time, arhhh~! As soon as the rain stopped, we loaded all of our luggage and saying good bye to our friends in Cemara Island.

As soon as we back to Batam Jessy and I visited single-mom house, to share some of God's word and testimonies to encourage them, I did a short sharing then we prayed for them.

24th Aug first english service at 7am for missionaries. Second service 9am preached by Pastor Yu, I was in another building for Children Ministry, telling stories and did some ballooning!

The Five Love Languages

To all the friends who are willing to 'choose' to live a loving life. This is my 3rd time reading the book, this time in english, which I could share with people around easily, why do I say so, because I am too lazy to type in mandarin, somehow english is easier.

The first time I read this book, it was last year, I am very much agreed with, and totally believe any one could live with any one, this take effort and action, no doubt it is a lesson for everyone out here with flesh and emotion...and with blood. I encourage you to buy this book from Focus on the Family bookstore at PJ SS13, it is worth of investment, read this book, you will find the key to live a successful marriage.

I believe 'Love' is a choice, it is an 'Action', you need to put in effort in order to attain it, don't give up, let us press on to make our lives wonderful.

Marriage Myth: Married life is unhappy life.

Fact: Studies show that married people have better emotional and physical health, longer lives, greater sexual satisfaction,
greater incomes, and more accumulated wealth.

"Being sincere is not enough. We must be willing to learn our spouse’s primary love language if we are to be effective communicators of love.

My conclusion after thirty years of marriage counseling is that there are basically five emotional love languages—five ways that people speak and understand emotional love. However, there may be numerous dialects. The important thing is to speak the love language of your spouse.

Communicating love isn’t as easy as feeling “in love,” because it’s quite a different thing. Falling in love is not an act of the will or a conscious choice. It’s effortless. One who is “in love” is not genuinely interested in fostering the personal growth of the other person. If the euphoric pleasure of being “in love” never ended, we might never experience true love and meaningful communication.

Love is something you do for someone else, not something you do for yourself. Most of us do many things each day that do not come “naturally” for us. For some of us, that is getting out of bed in the morning. We go against our feelings and get out of bed because we believe there is something worthwhile to do that day. And normally, before the day is over, we feel good about having gotten up. Our actions preceded our emotions.

The same is true with love. We discover the primary love language of our spouse, and we choose to speak it whether or not it is natural for us. You might not love the language itself, but speaking it will clearly communicate love to your spouse.

Love is a choice. And either partner can start the process today. ' by Dr. Gary Chapman

Science and God

Just received an email from friend that titled Science and God. An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his class on the Problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY.

It wasn't pleasant (to me) at the beginning of the conversation, not until the student (Albert Einstein) threw some questions back to his professor.

An interesting conversation of Albert Einstein with his professor

My Little Hero - Gabriel

Lata Kijang - Negeri Sembilan Waterfall Survivors Camp

It was held in 6-7 Dec

This was the 3rd time Gab and I join WS, each time gave us a special memories that two of us would share about in bed time, sharing about the people we met, the place, the tent, the food, the waterfall, the insect, the toilet.... Gab is extra comfortable with this Kijang waterfall, it is the tallest waterfall we've ever met, and yet it is the most shallow pool we've ever swam, this is the first time ever that Gab get so close to the fall, he is happy and excited.

Me? for sure I am happy and excited too, meeting new friends, friends that love to take photo, I love them... haha! especially Vincent and Tony, they took extra-ordinary pictures, Leo too, he took things that we usually neglected, or I should say, I usually neglected, compile all of their pictures, you could really go back to that moment again.... fantastic gang!

Thanks to all of you who made our (Gab and I) days, knitting every single memory, making our life wonderful, may God bless all of your days.

Please feel free to browse my personal web album about this Kijang Camp Travel Log, pictures that I have posted, is a compilation from Vincent, Leo, Tony, Gary, Ben, Vaani and myself.

Love,
Jane n Gab
