PASS THE BISCUITS 

  
When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then.  And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.  On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.  I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed!  Yet all my dad did was reach for his Biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. 
  
I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits.  And I'll never forget what he said:  "Honey, I love burned biscuits." 
  
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.  He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your momma put in a long hard day at work today and she's real tired.   And besides... a burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!" 
  
You know, life is full of imperfect things... and imperfect people.   I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.  What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults and choosing to celebrate each others differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. 
  
So...please pass me a biscuit. And yes, the burned one will do just fine!   And please pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did! 
  
Life is too short to wake up with regrets... Love the people who treat you right and forget about the ones who don't.

July month of Durian Attack!

It's durian season! It's beauty, it's taste, it's smell, it's texture are irresistible! I remember when I was young, dad used to buy a basket or two of durian after restaurant closed, and we will have our durian midnight! During that time, many relatives were staying together with us at the first floor of the restaurant, it's fun!

That's were my durian acquaintance starts!

Cynthia was not there for guitar class anymore, we decided to pay her a visit with our beloved durian.

A night that Debbie planed to have durian dinner then headed to USJ16 for famous Sister's Fried Kuey Teow, after returned to my place for a home-group gathering.

On the 25th July, indeed I had a durian session with Mark, Helza, Li Lian and Marcus at SS2, we went to the wrong stall, it's a buffet durian for RM15, the durian not as tasty as those I had in USJ 14, but the fellowship that counts! Sad, didn't bring camera along, can't show you the picture here.

On the 26th, Daryl, Phan and Beh came direct from their work place Cyber Jaya to enjoy the magnificent durian, Julian and wife joined in later at night. This is the day I fell in love with 'Bamboo Leg' species. We had many branded durian, inclusive of XO, Udang Merah but I love 'Bamboo Leg' alone. 

Taipan for real food! Something salty. Surprise to find out these delicious dishes, as I don't usually visit this restaurant. Gab and I loved thos mini Lala, yam rice was tasty, salty veggie was my delight! 

This day again..... a durian date with Melissa, Debbie and Jeremy. I am already can't take much, haha I took a few though, because I went after dinner. We didn't manage to take any good branded durian either 'Bamboo Leg' nor 'Udang Merah', but 'XO' at RM8 per kg, not bad at all.

Path of righteousness

Psalms 34: 9-10

⁹ Fear the LORD, you his holy people, 

for those who fear him lack nothing. 

¹⁰ The lions may grow weak and hungry,    

but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

I am ordinary enough to crave for more of God's blessing, it is not greedy, greed is a sin, the last in ten commandment but the most destructive behavior;  it is something God willingly to give and indeed can't wait to pour unto His children. 

It's such a privilege to be able to witness this promise in a sister's life, what a glory she brings to God, and she encouraged us to do so in her sharing few weeks ago, God is the living God, God is the faithful one, He is faithful to all His promises.

She encouraged us not only stop at the stage of fearing God, but to seek Him, yearn for better blessing, why just 'good' while you can have 'the best'?

Thinking of years back, when I was just a new believer, experienced His greatness and awesomeness, those were the times I fear Him and seek Him with wholehearted, though was walking in the valley, but  I lack nothing, I lack of no good thing, my face was growing bright as His glory shone on me, my heart filled with joy and strength, it's beyond what you can enjoy  .

Those were the times! 

He never said is easy to following His path, I am not taking it as an excuse to stray, He will not force us to give up things that are great fun, but He will continuously guiding and helping us to walk upright, struggles are like the friction through contiguity, moulding and polishing razor sharp edges of our lives.

Psalms 23: 3

³ he refreshes my soul. 

He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Path of righteousness is guided by the Lord

This path is still long way to go, sometimes I insisted to make my own decision, when I'm lost, the Lord is here to guide; I fall, the Lord is here to help; in the day, He rejoices together; in the night He comforts and warms my heart. He'll never leave, I don't want Him to leave.


I call upon His name, shout for help, that's the way I keep Him close to me, I know it sounds silly, as He stays in our hearts, I know He listens even though I whispering to Him, indeed my action of shouting is to call home my half deaf-soul. 

Here is the result, the final episode of the path of righteousness, a finale to God's promises.

¹⁰ When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, ¹¹ houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,...

I am looking forward to this blessing, and I know it is near~ Amen

Hainanese Yin-Yong Toast

Hotel bread

It is called Hainanese Yin-Yong Toast, because I am a Hainanese, Yin-Yong meaning spread with butter and kaya.

pre-sliced chilled salted butter

Spread one slice with kaya, and another side with sliced salted butter on toasted bread.

This is our breakfast!

It's Reserved!!

I can understand why sometimes some car owners not parking their cars on their own reserved lots, sigh, because someone has been occupied their belonging lot!

This car owner did! The previous one did, already two cars consequently taken my reserved parking lot!!

Too bad if you see your car is in this photo, yeah, you are the one who'd taken my reserved parking lot!

Home made Dry Lo Mein

全蛋面
Full-egged noodles, bought from morning market.














Break up noodles before boiling.

 Slide in noodles into boiling water.














Cooling off once for better tenderness.

Put cooked noodles into plate to mix well with black thick sauce and oil.

This is home cooked 'Char-siew', my mom's recipe, one day.... one day I will learn from her!

We used to cut 'Char-Siew' with scissors, therefore it is rather thick, well, who cares? As long as it is tasted great!

Things need to prepare before hand:

1. Home made Lard Residue (I think it is corretly called) 猪油渣 

1. Onion oil

1. Thick black sauce

1. Boiled spinach

Allow myself to present to you, my lunch :- home cooked Dry Lo Mein

I don't call it 'Wanton Needle' because I don't have 'wanton' to go with it.

Balloon Arch for SCF 20th Anniversary Celebration

Tomorrow is SCF 20th Anniversary Celebration, I was assigned to ready an balloon arch, I had no idea what to do, usually just play around with colours, since the official colours are gold and white, just headed to Taipan's balloon's shop to get those.

Very impressed with the arch stationed at the door of this shop, and first thing came to my mind was "hm, good idea, save time, don't have to pump so many balloons!", it could be my phobia, because it hurts my left hand muscles; another thing came to my mind was "Save cost!" .  "I'm going to make this arch!" Nope, I haven't tried this before, but it has no difficulty I guessed. 

So here I go to get only 50s of gold and white round balloons, 12 of tube 260 balloons, actually needed 8, if you are in ballooning sculpturing, you will know what I meant for taking extra.

The 50s of round gold and white balloons were not enough, I got to go back to get another 20s gold and 20s white round balloons in the evening.

With the help of other youths to get those balloons pumped, and Daniel's helped sculpturing, thankful for their initiative help.

1. Have a good rest on the eve of the event(that means no late night, sleep early)
2. Be on Time at the meet up point.(not fair to others who came early)
3. Do not litter.What you take up remember to bring them down(and dispose at proper dustbin)
4. Do not chop down young tree, if you need a walking stick look for a dead tree(nature conservation )
5. Think safety- no super hero stuff(dont endanger your life and that of others)
6. Look out for one another(particularly those who are new)
7. Listen to good advice from experience hikers
8. Never go out alone.(even for experience hikers)-you will never know what can happen
9. Come prepared and well equipped(enough drinking water, proper hiking shoes-that means no crocks or slippers)
10. Do not overestimate yourself.(know your limit)
