In fact is has not been easier giving online classes than physical classes, from the experience I have had from past, the effort I put in way more than physical music class.
Especially for beginner students, on top of that a foreign student who are not good in English.
However I am more than happy to take up this challenge.
Getting ready for online class.
The challenge is on counting, online class' responses always delaying, what you want to say is not in par with the student playing. Hence the ability of clear explanation and instruction, the patience of the student are both vital to a successful music online class.
You can't make correction on the spot, writing notes on the book, I need to write the counting on the picture by using iPad, send it back to the student. And record a piano accompaniment video to allow student to have their practice according to the piano and counting.
After a week of practising with the short piano accompaniment video, student is now able to follow the beat, hold the long notes, and playing with correct rhythm. Which I am so glad that the parent is doing the good job on monitoring her children's progress.
The effort of three parties are not to be ignored.
