Due to the pandemic reason that we have started teaching online since last year March, some students have preferred to continue online for the safety purposes.
Posing in front of zoom before class.
The pandemic has been stretching till no end, students can not be stopped learning, some have rang up to request continue classes online in order to keep them going.
Is important to phone positioning, some has limited support, that video couldn't show the keyboard or fingers in a clearer way, teachers have very much need to depend on hearing instead of just watching, and the time of correction is always being delayed, hence it took more effort from both parties when giving online class.
Extra times, extra preparations... with extra love!
A diagram for young children after explaining online about what semitone is.
marking with screenshot, correcting with photo edit, which I've making good use of the drawing feature on phone.
Showing how to place key signature after explanation online, prepared an extra video for them to follow after class.
Student shared a moment when she practising with the recorded piano accompaniment prepared for her.
Diagram for young violinist after explaining position on new string with new notes and fingers.
It could be fun and enjoyable when having online music classes. There is a student who had quitted many years ago, and now comes back for online class. As there isn't any hassle of arranging transport to send her for classes anymore.
Making kombucha in tropical country like Malaysia, it doesn't take 10 days of 1st fermentation, I don't like it too sour, hence it only takes about 5 days of 1st fermentation then move to 2nd fermentation.
Pineapple Kombucha
Strawberry Kombucha
Scoby
Ration of 3 litre Kombucha 1st fermentation:
Scoby and juicy : Water : Sugar : Tea leaves
Scoby+ 10% juice (from previous batch) : 100% Filtered Water (I am using Kangen 9.5pH) : 10% Sugar : 2% tea leaves.
250g juice : 2.5 litre water : 250g Sugar : 50g Tea leaves ( I'd like it to have stronger tea taste)
Tools you need in 1st fermentation:
Pot and stove, sugar, tea leaves, 3 litre glass container, clean cloth, elastic band, scoby and kombucha juice starter.
1st Fermentation Steps:
1) Boil water with tea leaves. Let's cool it till warm about 40°C.
2) Add sugar to mix well.
3) Pour everything in a 3 litre jar, cover with kitchen towel or cloth, using an elastic band to secure the edges to avoid little bugs from sneaking in.
4) Let sit for 5 days. You should be able to see a thin layer of new scoby is starting to form on 3rd day.
Kombucha in 1st fermentation in 3 litre glass container
2nd Fermentation Ingredients:
Fruits that you preferred, play around with your choice, I like ginger (also for more fizzy) too much! 100g Sugar if you are using sweet fruits like grapes, oranges, pineapple, mango... 120g sugar if you are making ginger kombucha. Adjust sugar amount to your liking.
Tools you need for 2nd fermentation:
Sugar, fruits, chopping board and knife, bottles (flip-top/ screw cap), a sieve, a jar
2nd Fermentation Steps:
1) Diced fruits, even ginger is good! Size that can fit in bottle easily.
2) Remove Scoby.
3) Prepare a jar, add sugar in it, use a sieve to sift away unwanted recidue then only pour kombucha into it slowly, bubbles is forming in this Carbonation reaction, then slowly teh-tarik the rest of kombucha until they are evenly mixed.
4) Reserve 250g juice for next making.
5) Put in fruit dices in every bottle (the amount for each bottle roughly like 1 1/2 grapes), fill kombucha until bottle neck by using the jar, allow 1-2 inches of head space.
6) Let it sit in room temperature for 2 days before storing in fridge.
Sometimes you get surprises, some too strong batch and yet you forget to store them in fridge!
Only happened once.... that I won't forget anymore!
Coming Friday 2nd April is celebrating Good Friday, our home group has invited a man from Canada who was forced to stay in Malaysia because of MCO. Where he was initially planned to pay a visit to his sister last year.
Gladly Lee Yong met him and invite him to join us this Friday. Here is the list of worship pieces with guitar chords.
I loved the design when I first saw from Ameenskateshop posted in Instagram, even it is 7.75 size. Initial motive is to keep it as a collection.
Out of sudden, the old skateboard grip tape peel-off... and thought could be the reason it was kept it in the car most of the time. Minilogo deck was still with Ameen, in this situation I will have to hurry to collect it from him. Therefore I collected the deck and dashed home to start fixing it up.
To change old skateboard to new deck, first have to remove trucks, reminded myself do not mix up with front and back trucks.
After fixing grip tape... gosh.. I forgot about nose and tail, somehow only realised it after I have screwed up both trucks, at this time I only hope that I will be lucky enough to get the right truck put on the right place... unfortunately, lucky doesn't belong to me!
Sigh... I am so SO forced to REPEAT the process of removing trucks and putting it back. Lastly remove wheels for light brushing (cleaning), and swapped wheels position.
I took extra effort and time for this simple job. However am proud of myself able to finish it by my own, and enjoyed it so much.
New Minilogo deck just got home!
Beautiful paisley design.
Grip tape is trimmed, not quite nicely done.
Shah Alam Skatepark, long missed the fun since 2020 Nov, I am forced to stop skateboarding due to legs injuries.
This is my favourite bowl.
Things to gear up when playing in bowls skatepark.
Learned from experience, that I can not overwork my legs, hence is only allowed to play one hour.
I just came back from Bukit Jalil Park, went with another three friends, there was a little hiccups we experienced. While we were walking out towards main entrance, we heard a male jogger saying in loud voice:"Have you all done scanning? There are a few police station at the entrance to check all joggers! Remember to scan before leaving here."
Most of us didn't do the scanning, so we walked to entrance to look for QR code, there was one tied in a lamp-pole but that doesn't work, most of us couldn't get scanning done. So we walked to another entrance. However, I tried to google search for the QR code picture, perhaps we can scan from the photo instead of walking.... there isn't any from web. haha.
The reason I didn't manage to scan as the QR code is placed at the GATE, literally at the GATE, where there is long queue of car if drivers and passengers to make scanning at the gate, and there were honking already raised. Hence the drivers in front made their move directly.
And true enough I met police officers at the gate to check for our check-in history.
It is our responsibility to make scanning everywhere we go. Here is the photo of Taman Bukit Jalil QR code if you have missed the scanning at the gate like I did.
